Wellbeing

Wellbeing is a state of optimal physical and mental health.
A state which allows us to thrive, where we can feel and perform at our best and maximise our enjoyment of life.

Wellbeing is much more than simply the absence of disease. It requires more than just the conventional disease-focused medical models where patients are passive recipients of care.

Wellbeing requires the active pursuit of activities, choices and lifestyles by individuals that leads to a state of optimal health.

Wellbeing involves the individual taking responsibility for their own choices, behaviours and lifestyles, appropriate to their own values, purposes and circumstances.

For me, the foundations of Wellbeing are:

  • Having a clear sense of purpose

  • Being empowered to make your own choices

  • Adopting healthy habits which complement your lifestyle and help you achieve your goals
